Ed Gauntt

Ed grew up in a family of loving parents in Oklahoma City, OK, where he spent most of his early adult years. Ed graduated from the University of Oklahoma where he worked the next several years in professional sales for a number of large corporations. With his success came the pride of life and the excesses that wealth brings. Though successful in the world’s eyes, Ed had a deep emptiness in his own life. He always had a sense of who God was but wondered if He would ever play a role in his love, or even want to.

In 1981, a friend shared the good news of Jesus Christ with him, and Ed immediately received Christ into his life. This new relationship in Christ was filling the loneliness and emptiness he had experienced all those years. The Lord would use the next few years to break his pride to mold and shape him. In 1992, God called Ed to Russia for a six-month missionary trip. This trip changed his life, and he wanted to spend his remaining years totally serving Him. However, God would keep Ed in secular work for another ten years. These years God would use to strengthen his faith and teach him to wait on Him!

FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS …God’s faithfulness is never ending. God answered his prayers to serve Him in May of 2001, when Ed came full-time with Far Reaching Ministries as Missions/Operations Officer. His duties are to serve those in full-time missions in Sudan, Kenya, and Uganda, as well as oversee pastors going to Africa to teach and evangelize. Ed also spends time in Africa teaching at the Chaplains’ compound in Sudan and offers support to all the other FRM ministries.

Ed is single and has one sister who has also been on the mission field. His mother has since gone on to the with the Lord, and he has a close relationship with his father, who is also a believer.

”However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me–the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace.” Acts 20:24
